Atlanta Magazine's Website
Here's another behind the scenes look at what goes into making an editorial illustration. The final image will be displayed on Atlanta Magazine's website in January along with my other fabulous classmates!
The magazine needed an illustration for an article about recess being taken out of elementary schools. We received a brief regarding the article, but not the actual piece, which made it a bit tricky but interesting because everyone's outlook was quite different.
Here's the sketch I sent to the editor:

Here is my first final, which I hated, so it became more of a color comp:
So, I tried the image as a reductive linocut:
And after a little Photoshop wizardry, here is the final image:
