Work in Progress

Happy 2010 to one and all!

I apologize that I haven't blogged in a long while. After a month long break spent in New England, I ventured back to sunny Savannah where I celebrated the new year. I am back to school, back to making art, and back to 70 degree weather! Woo Hoo!

Anyway, I have been working on so many things, but, sadly, I haven't finished ANY OF THEM (blame it on my undiagnosed adult ADHD). So, in the midst of the chaos of my many projects, I decided that I should at least post a work in progress in order to share what I am working on with the world.

For my Markets class (where we learn about different illustration markets to target for future jobs) we were asked to make an image of a celebrity focusing on the individual's likeness, personal style and attributes. Over break I attended the most amazing concert EVER with my friends Taylor and Ronde (shout out to y'all!). It was in NYC and the artist was Raphael Saadiq. Taylor has been slowly getting me accustomed to his music, but the concert has sealed my fate as a life long Saadiq fan.

Needless to say, I am working on an image of Raphael Saadiq. I have rendered his figure, but I need to add a background, which is where the "work in progress" part comes in. I'll upload the finished image later! Enjoy this sneak peek for now!

Here is a link to one of his videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1k7lNMyRpw

  1. OH HAI LIS! I like the work in progress of Saadiq. He's one of my favorites and I am glad to hear that you now enjoy his sounds too. I hope your semester's off to a great start. Enjoy the sunshine for me please. Kthxbye.
