My Window

As most of y'all know I am currently living in a Medieval village carved into a hillside in the Luberon Valley of France.

I have discovered since I've been here that I am most definitely a product of the 2oth Century and am addicted to all forms of technology. The internet never works in my hobbitt house (its so cute and tiny that my massive nearly 6 foot self barely fits through the door), which means I have to walk up and down the hills of the village to find a computer that will allow me to download LOST and Glee and the bagillion other shows I am used to watching non-stop back home (sorry Dad, but the iTunes bill might catch you off guard this month). I miss "Fatty Fridays" in Savannah where I lay in bed all day with the sun pouring into my bedroom window while Griff lays at my feet and I devour the buffalo chicken pizza I just had delivered from Dominos all while watching a marathon of some sort of trash reality tv programming on Bravo (man, do I miss those Housewives). I am still trying to adjust to not being so "American". I've been eating non-processed foods and walking everywhere I go. My soda intake has decreased because it costs more than alcohol in Europe and I'm pretty sure I am in better shape from having to hike up and down the hill than when I was training for the Disney princess Half Marathon!

But, whenever I get frustrated that something doesn't work or go my way or feel the way it usually feels, I just remind myself to turn around and take a peek out the window. The view is enough to remind me that this is such a cool place, and even more so, such a cool experience. Ferris Bueller said it best:

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Enjoy the view! Miss y'all!
